Maxi Premium EPO™ capsules combine hexane-free evening primrose and flaxseed oils to provide essential fatty acids in an exceptional vegetarian Omega 3, 6 & 9 formula.
Evening Primrose Oil is rich in essential polyunsaturated fatty acids — as essential as vitamins and minerals for good health. It contains 74% linoleic acid (LA) and 8–10% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), better known as Omega-6 oils.
Flaxseed Oil is an important Omega-3 fatty acid source. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is found in high amounts (50–60%) in flaxseed oil. Approximately 10% of ALA is transformed in the body into EPA and DHA — making flaxseed oil particularly important for vegetarians who do not eat fish. Flaxseed oil is also nature’s most abundant source of lignans, naturally-occurring phytoestrogens found in plants.
Not all oils are created equal. Some oils are extracted using chemical solvents like hexane, which can damage the oil through high-heat processing. Maxi Health Research uses a gentle, low-temperature process that is hexane-free, increases stability, and preserves the nutritional components of the oils.
